Manoa Fire Company

The Manoa Fire Company is one of five volunteer fire stations serving the 9.5 square miles of Haverford Township. The Company provides fire suppression, rescue operations, and assists with emergency medical services to the Township's approximate 50,000 residents. The Company's firefighting staff is 100% volunteer, staffing an Engine, a Rescue, and a Rescue-Pumper 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In order to continue to provide this vital service to the community, the Manoa Fire Company is always looking for new members. Wednesday, January 20, 2016  Tonight  members of the Haverford Township Bureau of Fire attended an awards ceremony at the Haverford Township CREC. Members were recognized for completing National Firefighter 1 program in the past year, Life Membership Awards and Lifetime Achievement Awards. The program was put together but the Haverford Township Bureau of Fire Recruitment and Retention Committee, the Haverford Township Board of Commissioners and the Township Manager. Friday, January 15, 2016  Around 4:45 am Engine 56 with a crew of 7 members responded to a working building fire in Marple Township. Crews from Manoa, Broomall, Springfield, Rose Tree, Garrettford Drexel Hill, encountered very heavy fire conditions on arrival. The townhomes were under construction at the time. The crew from Engine 56 was given orders to the rear of the structure to provide water supply to Tower 44 and fire suppression. The crew on arrival pulled a blitz fire and additional handline. Crews were on scene for 3 hours. Thanks to Frank Wesnoski for the video.




Saturday, January 2, 2016  Shortly before noon Company 56 (Manoa), Ladder 35 (Brookline) Company 58 (Bon Air) and Rescue 20 (Garrettford-Drexel Hill) for RIT were dispatched to the area of the 600 block of Country Club Lane for a smoke investigation. 56-9B (Lattanzio) arrived on location to find detached garage with a fire in the rear of garage with extension to the interior. Crew from Squad 56 dropped a 5 inch line on the way in and deployed a handline quickly extinguishing the fire. 56-9C (Coll) established Country Club Command while 56-9B (Lattanzio) handled operations. Crews from Bon Air and Brookline assisted with overhaul checking for extension.




Friday, January 1, 2016  We want to extend our deepest sympathies to our Brothers and Sisters of the HTPD and to Officer Krieg's family on this tragic loss. Through his 22 years of service to Haverford Township Officer Krieg was always a big help to us here at Manoa on Fire and EMS and always being a great friend to us. Rest in Peace Kenny you will be missed by all of us and Thank You for your service to our town.




Monday, November 30, 2015   On Saturday, December 19th Santa Claus will be coming through Manoa's first due area handing out candy canes to all the children. Members of Manoa will begin driving Santa around 10am. We hope to see all the parents and children coming out to say hi. Manoa Fire Company wishes all a very Happy and Healthy Holiday Season.



Spaghetti with Santa

Spaghetti with Santa will be held at Manoa Fire Company (115 S Eagle Rd, Havertown, PA 19083) on Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Admission is $12 for adults and $7 for children (children under 2 eat free).  Admission includes ceasar salad, pasta, meatballs, drinks, and dessert.   Santa will be at the fire house so please be sure to bring your camera to capture your child’s special time with Santa.

Sunday, September 27, 2015  The Delaware County Task Force consisting of Squad 56 (Manoa), Ladder 35 (Brookline), Engine 50 (Middletown) and Squirt 43 (Holmes) assisted Philadelphia Fire Department with standby coverage for the Papal Visit to the City of Philadelphia on Sunday, September 27th. The crew from Manoa consisted of 6 firefighters on Squad 56 and 56-9 (Chief Norman) the Delco Task Force Leader. Additionally, our Station was fully staffed with over ten firefighters for any emergencies in or around the township. The crew arrived at the station at 2 am and departed Manoa Fire Company at 3am to start their shift at 4am to relieve the Chester County Task Force. The Task Force was staged at the Philadelphia Airport Training Facility. The original assignment was a 12 hour shift from 4am to 4pm. Shortly before lunch the crews were briefed by the airport fire chief requested us to stay until 8pm due to a private party and send off that included the Vice President that was being held on the airport property. Fortunately, we were not called into action and the visit went off perfectly. We are proud that we played such a small part in the Pope's visit and we are thankful to our families for their support while the crews were gone for an extended period of time.  




Friday, June 12, 2015   It is with great pleasure we announce that 9 members of our department will receive the 2015 Drummond Memorial Scholarship Award. The membership of Manoa Fire Company wish to again Thank the Drummond Family for their continued support to us and assisting our members the opportunity to further their educations. 




Thursday, June 11, 2015   Shortly after 7pm Station 19 (Lansdowne) and Station 24 (East Lansdowne) were dispatched to the unit block of North Lansdowne Ave for a fire alarm in an apartment building. Shortly after dispatch the assignment was upgraded to a working fire adding Station 16 (Yeadon) Station 03 (Clifton Heights) Station 20 (Garrettford Drexel Hill) Station 42 (Collingdale #2) Company 105 (Fitz Paramedics) and RIT 56. Rescue 56 and Engine 56 made the response with 12 members. Crews had fire on division 1 and the basement with heavy smoke throughout the large U shaped building. RIT 56 crews threw ground ladders for access and removing doors and grates. Shortly after the first alarm was dispatched Station 19 Command requested a full second alarm bringing Station 58 (Bon Air) Station 05 (Glendolden) Station 06 (Collingdale #1) Station 04 (Darby) RIT 09 (Sharon Hill) RIT 43 (Holmes) Station 36 (Cardington) Station 34 (Llanerch Firefighter Rehab Unit) and numerous fire police. Crews remained on scene for several hours before returning to Manoa around 11pm. Thursday, June 11, 2015   This evening through the generosity of the Main Line Chamber of Commerce 4 members of Manoa Fire Company were awarded scholarships. The program started several years back is titled "Hometown Heroes" is awarded in June to members of fire and Ems companies in the area. We would like to congratulate the following members on their awards Nik Fowler, Jared Lutz, Jack Weber and Kevin Costigan. We also want to thank the Main Line Chamber of Commerce for their continued support of the emergency services and assisting our membership further their education.
