MANOA FIRE COMPANY RECEIVES RECOGNITION FROM STATE FIRE COMMISSIONER

Friday, February 24, 2017 On February 24, 2017 Manoa Fire Company was recognized by Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner Timothy Solobay for attaining the 75% recognition level as part of the Participating Department Recognition Program. The program recognizes departments that support, promote and encourage their emergency response personnel to voluntarily certify in accordance with nationally recognized and sanctioned Professional Qualification Standards. Recognition at this level means that over 75% of our volunteers are currently certified within one of the accredited levels of the Office of the State Fire Commissioner Certification Program.

With this recognition Manoa Fire Company has demonstrated its commitment to providing quality services to our residents. Manoa Fire Company has maintained the 75% recognition level continuously since 2005 while the time and training requirements to achieve these certifications has steadily risen. Several members who were already certified under the requirements of the program reaffirmed their commitment to our mission by attaining certifications at more advanced levels. The entire membership of Manoa Fire Company is proud of this achievement. Chief Michael Norman and his officer staff would like to commend and congratulate the members who made this significant accomplishment possible.
