Working Fire in Marple Township

On Friday February 3rd around 845 PM the Manoa Fire Company was alerted for a house fire in the area of Sunset and Bonsall Ave in Marple Township. Units arrived to a two story dwelling well involved on arrival. Roughly 60 firefighters were on scene for 5+ hours in the below freezing temperatures while crews worked to extinguish the fire which was also well advanced by 18+ MPH winds. Due to extreme icing conditions and gaining access to structurally compromised areas made getting to hotspots unsafe and very difficult. Firefighters did respond back out around 2AM for an additional flare up. The home suffered extreme damage however no injuries were reported.
