WORKING FIRE IN THE 38 LOCAL

     

Friday, January 13, 2012 About 15 minutes before the 1400hour company's 38 and 35 were dispatched to the 2800 block of Haverford Road for the dwelling fire.  Within minutes the assignment was upgraded to a working fire bringing Rescue 58 and RIT 56 to the scene.  Upon Engine 56 going responding 38-9 gave the Engine orders to go in service upon arrival.  38-9 added company 34 for man power and MontCo 23 (Bryn Mawr Fire Co.) for the RIT.
 

Once on location the crew of Engine 56 stretched a third line into the home via a basement window to crews already operating in the basement.  Once completed, the crews stood by for further orders.
 

Engine 56 remained on scene for about an hour before assisting 38 restore their Engine and then being released.  No injuries were reported.
 

Units on scene were: Engine's 38, 35, 56, 34-1, 34-2, Ladder 38, Squad's 38, MontCo 23, Rescue 58, Ambulance's 34 & 56, Medic 108, and Rehab 34.
