This afternoon, Company 56 was alerted to the intersection of West Chester Pike and North Eagle Road for vehicle fire. Squad 56, 56-9 (Chief Norman), and 56-9B (Asst Chief Norman Jr.) all arrived simulataneously at the intersection. An investigation found that a small amount of oil had leaked out of a truck and set a small fire on the roadway, which was out at the fire company's arrival. Crews pulled the booster line as a precaution and controlled hazards. Company 56 was back in service in under a half hour.
