Today around 15:30 hours the assignment was dispatched for a vehicle accident with entrapment with a vehicle reported on fire. Ambulance 34-7, Medic 108, 108A and 108-9 arrived first on location and reported a 3 vehicle accident no fire with one subject pinned. Rescue 56 arrived and went to work with stabilizing the vehicle, removing the roof, and drivers side 2 doors. Engine 34 stretched a precautionary handline while Squad 38 and 56's crew assisted ems with patient removal. Total extrication time was for the incident was just under 10 minutes. 108-9 handled EMS Command while 34-9 had Township Line Command. Units on scene were Rescue and Squad 56, Rescue and Squad 38, Engine 34, Ambulance 34-7, Ambulance 56-7 and 56-7A, Medic 108, Medic 108A, Medic 108-9, HTPD and HTBF Fire Police. Later in the day the building response was sent to Lawrence Rd in Marple Township for the Building fire. Squad 56 arrived behind Quint 53 and quickly helped in the search for a source of fire. Quint 53 put the stick in service to find heavy smoke coming from the chimney. Crews from 53, 56, and Ladder 35 found heavy smoke in the furnace room, discovering that all emergency shut offs work as predicted and no fire was found. The smoke was able to vent itself through the chimney, and companies were made available by 53-9 (Command). Also on scene was Engine 56, Squirt 23, and 14-2. The Manoa EMS division ran a total of 8 emergencies as well throughout the day.
